With six thematic areas, change of days and hours and the concept of innovation incorporated into its new image, the 15th edition of FITECMA – International Wood & Technology Fair, is awakening favorable expectations from both exhibitors and visitors.

The fair that will be held again at the Costa Salguero Center, in the City of Buenos Aires, from July 14 to 17, 2021, will this time have three new exhibition areas that add to its traditional target of Machines, Tools and Supplies. Construction with Wood, Bioenergy (Biomass) and Industry 4.0, will be three sectors that will be incorporated with great force, allowing the ” expo ” to practically cover the entire chain of the forestry industry from the first transformation to the elaboration of the finished products in wood of higher value.

‘’ In the planning meetings of the fair, the companies were showing us new needs and we saw that other actors were joining the market. In this interaction, innovation emerged as a fundamental premise that we should consider comprehensively for all the activities involved in the fair, ” said Osvaldo Kovalchuk, Vice President of ASORA and member of the Organizing Committee.

For the first time, the fair will remain open to the public for four days, from Wednesday to Saturday and with new hours: from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm. It is a measure that aims at optimizing the time of both exhibitors and visitors and is aligned with the most important international fairs in the field.

In line with this, for the next edition of the fair highly qualified partners were selected in each of the activities that are planned to develop. Thus, in construction with wood, we are already working with the Faculty of Architecture, Design, Art and Urbanism, of the University of Morón, which has vast experience in working with wood. The organization of a national wood construction competition is also being analyzed; and the practical representation of the different existing wood construction systems.

In bioenergy (biomass, technology and materials for the generation of thermal energy) conversations were started with the authorities of PROBIOMASA – Project for the promotion of energy (FAO – Secretariat of Energy for Productive Development – Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries); Contact is being made with national companies and representatives of the main international technology providers and local producers of wood pellets. In addition, negotiations are being carried out with the directors of Avebiom – Spanish Association for the Energy Valorization of Biomass (organizers of Expobiomasa, Valladolid), with whom it was agreed to advance in a joint dissemination work to ensure that Spanish companies present themselves at FITECMA. Also with companies that participated from February 19 to 22 in Progetto Fuoco, the most important fair of the field held in Verona, Italy.

In Industry 4.0, as in the 2019 edition, the benchmark is INTI – National Institute of Industrial Technology, with whose team the first meetings have been held to advance a joint INTI – ASORA project of Industry 4.0 technology applied specifically to different processes in the wood and furniture industry to improve competitiveness.
