ASORA – Association of Manufacturers and Representatives of Machines, Equipment and Tools for the Wood Industry, has just presented FITECMA VIRTUAL 2021, an innovative product aligned with the services offered by the most important sector fairs in the world, which will be online from 14 to 17 July of this year.

The technological innovation and the tools incorporated into the software make up a fast and efficient platform that will make it the first Wood & Technology digital market in the country.

Today the digital world offers companies a wide range of possibilities to position their products in different markets. FITECMA VIRTUAL will configure a specialized marketplace that will bring together buyers and sellers on a website so that they can carry out commercial transactions, with brands of different categories but within a single internet channel.

In this way, exhibitors and visitors will have a 3D Platform that will be online 24 hours a day during the four days that the fair lasts. The virtual tour will allow direct contact between exhibitors and visitors who will be able to combine meetings in real time, connecting by WhatsApp, chat, videoconference and other communication tools.

Likewise, the platform has an intelligent search engine that allows a quick location of what is being searched by stand, by item, by brand, by product, or by keyword.

In this way, ASORA, as the organizer of FITECMA, reaffirms its commitment to continue working so that the fair continues to be a strategic and reliable ally for the different actors in the wood-furniture value chain of our country.

After a detailed analysis of the situation derived from the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the health of the population, as well as on the country’s economic activity, the Organizing Committee of FITECMA – International Wood & Technology Fair, decided to postpone to 2022 the fifteenth edition of the exhibition that was scheduled from July 14 to 17 at the Costa Salguero Center
of the City of Buenos Aires.

To this is added that the Government of the City of Buenos Aires allocated the Costa Salguero Estate to the operation of a testing center for coronavirus and there is no scheduled date to ensure its availability to hold the fair.

To the current health context it must be added that the vaccination schedule does not give certainty that on the date scheduled for FITECMA 2021 it will be possible to have the massive presence of specialized visitors; nor that the transport system is enabled so that the public from the interior of the country can arrive, which historically represents more than half of the total visitors to the fair.

In addition, the consultations made with exhibiting companies coincide on the need to prioritize safeguarding the health of exhibitors and visitors, while ensuring contacts and business within the scope of the fair.

Currently, the most suitable date for holding FITECMA in 2022 is being negotiated with the directors of the Costa Salguero Center, which will be announced as soon as possible.
At the same time, FITECMA Virtual was developed, an innovative project aligned with the services offered by the most important sector fairs in the world, which will be online from July 14 to 17 of this year and about which it will be reported soon.

The first edition that we attended FITECMA was in 2001 and so far we have held six more editions.

In 2019 we returned and presented ourselves with great success, so we decided that the expo would become a substantial tool in the promotion program of our company.

The quality of public, of contact, that is achieved is very specific and for us the proportion of new contacts from all over the country is very important. This significantly improves the cost per contact compared to other sales systems.

We are convinced that the incorporation of the new planned areas will be very positive in the next edition. In our case, especially in relation to wood construction, because it will attract an additional target audience among architects and designers.

La Constancia continues to specialize in outsourcing doors for furniture manufacturers. With which, at FITECMA we are going to present all new lines of laminates and designs. And also, it will give us the possibility to explain to clients how changes in management can be carried out.

We hope that 2021 can be a year to grow. We are restructuring ourselves to respond to a greater demand. And we believe that the fair, as always will be a trigger for this.

We have participated in all editions of FITECMA. The fair has always been very positive for us. It always gives us new contacts and also allows us to meet clients who are far away in the interior and we do not see each other and the fair becomes a very good place to meet.

In addition, this year we are going to start a new activity in Argentina as representatives of MEBOR with sawing machines and other types of machines for first transformation, and we will present the entire line at FITECMA

The public of the fair is always of very good quality, selected, qualified. They come interested in specific products and to know the innovations that they can incorporate into their companies and workshops. The fair also helped us grow in contacts in Uruguay, Chile, Peru, where we export.

The inclusion of new areas, especially that of construction with wood seems very successful because Argentina has been working on the construction of wooden houses for a long time, but in recent years the government is an issue that is being strongly promoted. Also the area of biomass, because the country is making great progress with the use of waste and biomass resources offered by the remanufacture and sawmill industry.

FITECMA – International Wood & Technology Fair, which will be held from July 14 to 17, 2021, at the Costa Salguero Center, of the City of Buenos Aires, will mark a turning point for the fair, they affirm in the Organizing Committee. And they highlight the change of schedule, new format, incorporation of three thematic areas, the incorporation of new services and special activities, among the strengths that will show a renewed exhibition aligned with the trend of the most important sector fairs in the world.

The construction with wood will occupy a prominent place in FITECMA 2021. For this reason, in mid-December a meeting was held between authorities of the Central Society of Architects (SCA), the Faculty of Architecture, Design, Art and Urbanism of the University of Morón, and members of the FITECMA Organizing Committee, in which the SCA agreed to organize a “National Wood Construction Contest” for professionals, which will be officially launched next March. The idea is that the first prize is built and presented within the scope of FITECMA.

One of the important points in the FITECMA 2021 communication plan was the creation of the digital FITECMA News.

This new communication tool created especially by ASORA – Association of Manufacturers and Representatives of Machines, Equipment and Tools for the Wood Industry, has undoubtedly become a very effective means of keeping all the news that is generated at the Fair updated. .

This is the fifth issue to be published and will reach more than 30,000 contacts included in our database.

In addition, the Organizing Committee of FITECMA 2021 is developing an important program of promotion and strategic positioning of the fair through ASORA Magazine, the FITECMA website: www.fitecma.com.ar; campaigns on social networks (facebook – instagram – youtube – twitter); and a periodic e-news service.

Numerous agreements with publishers, business entities and fairs also constitute an important platform for dissemination both nationally and internationally.

The Association of Pulp and Paper Manufacturers (AFCP), the Argentine Forestry Association (AFoA), the Association of Manufacturers and Representatives of Machines, Equipment and Tools for the Wood Industry (ASORA) and the Argentine Federation of the Wood and Related Industry ( FAIMA), announced on December 3 the creation of the Argentine Industrial Forestry Council (CONFIAR), within the framework of the year-end toast held together for the first time with the associates of the four entities.

The objective of the new entity is to act jointly on sectoral issues with greater strength and articulation in the representation of the entire forestry-industrial chain.

CONFIAR has already confirmed its participation in FITECMA 2021 and from March it will begin to outline the activities it will carry out at the fair.

At the beginning of the event, those present were welcomed and commented on how and why this new figure arises. CONFIAR has the objective of continuing to act jointly on sectoral issues with greater strength and articulation in the representation of the entire forestry-industrial chain, from forestry activity to adding value in all its forms; with the objective of promoting the development of forestry, the forest-based industry and its industries and support services throughout the territory of the Argentine Republic in an economically competitive, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable manner in the conceptual context of a circular bioeconomy .

During the virtual meeting, the CONFIAR logo was presented and it was explained that each leaf is associated with the color of the entity it represents and its main activity: green represents AFoA for the plantations; the target to AFCP by the pulp and paper industry; the orange represents FAIMA for the wood; the gray to ASORA in relation to technology and machinery for industry.

The presidents of the four entities then detailed why it is important for each of the institutions to work together within the framework of CONFIAR.

At the event, it was highlighted that CONFIAR now represents a sector and its associated industry that involve 1.3 million ha. of forest plantations; 53 million ha. of native forests; exports for 550 million dollars; 100 thousand direct jobs; 7000 SMEs of different levels of wood processing.

The industrial forestry sector has ample potential to expand rapidly and can contribute to a positive impact on jobs and foreign exchange immediately. The entities that join in CONFIAR participated in the implementation of the 2030 Strategic Plan, with broad public-private participation, which shows the possibility of attracting 7 billion dollars in investments, the creation of 186,000 thousand jobs and the increase of exports at 2.6 billion dollars. But, in addition to being an engine for growth, the sector can provide immediate employment responses with the expansion of forest plantations, the protection and sustainable management of forests, construction with wood, generation of electrical and thermal energy with forest biomass and others. industrial forestry activities, as well as generating foreign exchange through exports.

In closing, the representatives of the organizations toasted with the participants for the closing of the year and reported that in the coming months the work agenda and the action plan of CONFIAR will continue to be defined, which will be disseminated in March.

We know FITECMA perfectly because we have participated as visitors in almost all its editions and we know the impact and importance of the fair in the sector. Based on this knowledge, in 2019 we made the decision to be exhibitors for the first time, with the fundamental reason to formally present to the market the entire line of remanufacturing products that our sawmill has been manufacturing for a few years.

Based on the very positive experience we had, we decided to participate again and we will be at FITECMA 2021. We know that it is a good opportunity to be able to fully show all the new products that we are launching, because the fair is a very suitable and popular environment. of the sector.

In fact, the public that attends the fair, both in quantity and quality, left us very satisfied in 2019: the vast majority is a public from different fields belonging to or related to the wood sector.

To this is added that we believe that the incorporation of new areas to the fair such as construction with wood, biomass, industry 4.0, is a good initiative that provides and adds attractions of interest to specialized visitors. The events convened by construction professionals help a lot to disseminate the use and handling of wood as a constructive element.

After a year that has been very particular, the medium-term projection is difficult. In the immediate term, we think that 2021 has to be a good year for the sector and we hope that the fair can be developed in its traditional format to get the most out of it.

We return to FITECMA after 10 years, we move away after influenza A because we do not receive support from outside.

FITECMA is a very good fair and it is convenient for us to be there because it summons a specialized public from all over the country and we have a small percentage of the market so we have the need to show all the available technology.

The expectations we have with the new sectors that joined the fair for 2021 are very good. For us it is very important, especially with regard to Industry 4.0 because Homag is a leader. And within the companies of the Homag Group there is a company that is Weima, of which we already have 3 facilities manufacturing houses and wooden containers in Chile and one in Forestal Guaraní in Misiones.

We think that FITECMA 2021 is going to be very important and we are going to present all the innovations of Industry 4.0 and also the technology for the construction of industrialized wooden houses.

We have been participating in FITECMA since 2007 without interruption. For us, the fair has two very positive points of view. From the internal because it divides our work into cycles. We know that every two years we have the most important event in the wood and furniture industry, which allows us to present ourselves to the market in the best way. That is why we prepare especially. We develop new products, we always try to innovate. It also helps us with the massive participation of all the company’s staff at the stand, giving opinions, making something, painting, and all this is very significant for the union of the team.

And externally it is very important because it allows us to meet clients, with our suppliers, make new contacts. In that week you can join 4 or 5 months of work in the interior of the country. In our case also from neighboring countries since we export and people come from those countries to visit us at the fair, so we get a closer contact that later facilitates sales.

For all this, it is very important for us to be able to participate and continue doing so in the next editions of the fair.

Regarding the 2021 edition, we have huge expectations. We believe that it will be one of the most important exhibitions in the history of FITECMA because we believe that next year will see a very strong push in the construction industry and we are part of it, so we expect many visitors.

I participated in the 14 editions of FITECMA. It is a fair that prioritizes the market because it gives the possibility of showing the new technologies and innovations that are presented in the world in Argentina and for neighboring countries such as Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Chile.

In recent editions the fair is receiving new actors. New companies, some professionals who set up their own workshops or factories, and these people visit the fair for the first or second time and interact with

Bioenergy (Biomass) and Industry 4.0 ‒together with Wood Construction‒ will make up special sectors that will be incorporated into FITECMA 2021 with a lot of prominence, making the fair encompassing the entire forestry-industry chain, from the first transformation to the elaboration of finished wood products with the highest added value.

In bioenergy (biomass, technology and materials for the generation of thermal energy) PROBIOMASA has already confirmed its participation – Project for the promotion of energy (FAO – Secretariat of Energy for Productive Development – Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries), with whose authorities it They are planning specific communication actions that allow the promotion of biomass for the generation of clean energy. In addition, contact is being made with national companies and representatives of the main international technology providers and local producers of wood pellets. At the same time, negotiations are being carried out with the directors of Avebiom – Asociación Española de Valorización Energética de Biomasa (organizers of Expobiomasa, Valladolid), with whom it was agreed to advance in a joint dissemination work to get Spanish companies to present themselves at FITECMA . Similar work has been carried out with companies that participated last February in Progetto Fuoco, the most important fair of the sector held in Verona, Italy.

In Industry 4.0 – declared a strategic sector for the National Government – the benchmark is INTI – National Institute of Industrial Technology, deepening the alliance established in the 2019 edition, and with whose team the first meetings have been held to advance a project INTI – ASORA set of Industry 4.0 technology applied specifically to different processes in the wood and furniture industry to improve competitiveness.

In this way, with the national and international technology leaders who have already confirmed their presence and the special promotion of the new items, in 2021 the 15th edition of FITECMA proposes a different fair with new attractions and great business potential.

In each of the special activities that are being organized for FITECMA 2021, highly qualified and recognized partners were selected.

Thus, in construction with wood, we have been working with the Faculty of Architecture, Design, Art and Urbanism, of the University of Morón – which has vast experience in working with wood -, in the organization of a Competition for students and the first The award will be built and presented at FITECMA 2021 as part of the Faculty stand. Negotiations are also advanced for the Central Association of Architects to organize a National Wood Construction Competition, the first prize of which will be exhibited at the fair. As a dissemination of the possibilities offered by wood in all types of constructions, a Congress is being organized, also with the University of Morón, focused on architecture and architects studies; and in the practical demonstration of the different wood construction systems that can be used.

On October 26, a meeting was held in which the Dean of the Faculty, Alejandro Borrachia; the Director of the Architecture Degree, Alejandro Albistur; and the members of the Organizing Committee of FITECMA 2021, Osvaldo Kovalchuk; Armando Chichiarelli; Nicolás De Gennaro; and Roberto Minoli, to continue advancing in the organizational aspects of the scheduled events.

‘’ Our closeness to wood from the academic world; the organization of cultural events such as congresses at the national and international level; and participation in specialized fairs where the Faculty presents built prototypes which are then given a social purpose; encourages us to work together with ASORA in this ambitious plan with the aim of being able to disseminate among professionals all the possibilities that wood offers in sustainable construction, ” said Alejandro Borrachia.

For his part, Osvaldo Kovalchuk, Vice President of ASORA – the organizer of the fair – pointed out that the interaction with the Faculty “helps us to show wood from a different place,” adding that next year’s edition also to ratify the call to the traditional sectors of FITECMA, “we want to advance in others such as Construction with Wood, which we see great potential for future growth.” And at this point, he concluded, “We want the activities carried out to have the excellence that the market needs to continue training professionals.”

Whenever possible, we were at FITECMA and the times we were not exhibitors it was due to the lack of support from abroad.
It is the fair with the largest call for specialized audiences in the entire country.
Among the new areas, the presence of Industry 4.0 is essential. Biomasa is the first fair to incorporate it and I hope it receives a strong boost. And Wood Building is sure to attract more architecture and design professionals.

We exhibited at the fair since 2013, we only missed last year due to a matter of time and commitments assumed in Italy.
FITECMA is very important to us. Visitors take it as a meeting point to see innovations. In addition, it is the only way to get more than 2,000 effective contacts among those who visit the stand. And specialized audiences come from all over the country.
All the activities that are being planned to develop at the fair, especially for Construction with Wood, are of a high level and we are sure that they will attract many professionals.

We have been present at FITECMA since 2007. Last year we launched at the Greenway fair and it went very well. The fair receives many specialized visitors from the interior of the country, this is very positive because otherwise it would be practically impossible to get them.
The decision to change the schedule and have FITECMA start in the morning seems very successful because it allows us to concentrate all the activity of the company in the fair during those 4 days. The inclusion of Construction with Wood benefits us especially because it ensures the visit of a greater number of architects and designers.

We have been present at FITECMA since 2009. It is the most important fair in the field because it unites all sectors that work with wood, furniture manufacturers, carpenters, and I believe that actions of interest are being developed to attract designers and architects.
This for us is especially positive, because just as we are interested in manufacturers and carpenters to be able to incorporate professionals as a public, we are added because they are consumers of our products.
But it also represents an opportunity for professionals to access all the information provided by FITECMA in four days and in one place.
The time change also seems beneficial, especially for the visitor from the interior of the country who can make better use of the time.

The first FITECMA we attended as exhibitors was in 1999. For us it is a classic, an obligatory event where we have to participate.
It is an opportunity that we wait every two years to receive clients from the interior of the country, but also, as has happened mainly in recent editions, it has allowed us to get a large number of new contacts.
In the last 7 or 8 years the furniture industry turned to melanin, which caused a major technological change. We always take advantage of the fair to present news, in the next edition we will present a specific saw to work with the special characteristics of these boards.
I think that the incorporation of new sectors such as Construction with Wood and Biomass will contribute to the continued growth of the number of public.
